When is the community cart open?
Right now, we do not have a set schedule. It depends on when we have enough items to share with our neighbors. Keep an eye on our social media for updates about when the cart will be open!
Will the community cart always be at the same address?
Yes! The cart is located at our home in Yuma. However, we’ve fixed it up to take to events, so you might see us post about the cart being at a special location. Whenever we put the cart out, we’ll share the address in our social media posts.
What can I find on the community cart?
The items vary each time! Currently, we’ve been putting out fresh fruit from our trees, and air plants (Taelynn’s idea) have been a regular addition. We also add anything else that might bring a smile to the community.
Can I donate fruit from my trees?
Absolutely! Many of us in the Foothills have citrus trees producing more fruit than we can use. If you have extra, bring it to us, and we’ll share it through the community cart.
Can you pick up my extra food?
We’re a small crew—just our family—so while we can’t guarantee pick-ups, send us a message! We’ll do our best to arrange something.
Can you deliver food to me?
For now, we can’t promise deliveries, but if you reach out to us, we’ll try to help however we can.
Who is behind Beachy Munchies Farm?
We’re a family committed to making a difference in the Yuma community:
- Bobby Ericson: An entrepreneur with 8+ years of experience working with food banks, combining his love for food with community service.
- Jennifer Ericson: Director of Corporate Training at AWC, successful business owner, and proud supporter of our mission.
- Taelynn (14): The heart behind our nonprofit idea, inspiring us daily with her kindness and creativity.
- John Robert (5): Our chicken enthusiast and brave heart warrior! Born with Tetralogy of Fallot, he had open-heart surgery at just 4 months old. He brings energy and love to our farm.
We’re excited to share more about our journey as time goes on!
What is the big vision for Beachy Munchies Farm?
We’re starting small to show that anyone with a little space can create a sustainable micro-farm. In the future, we dream of:
- Expanding to a larger space for more gardens, chickens, and projects.
- Opening a commissary to support aspiring food entrepreneurs.
- Collaborating with chefs to provide access to fresh, locally-grown produce. Big ideas start small, and we’re thrilled to share this journey with you!
